Loppula Nature Café is located in the beautiful Sanginjoki Nature Reserve. The surrounding forests open the door to unforgettable nature experiences, moments of happiness, and new insights, inspired by Finnish Nature.
Fresh treats and friendly service at Loppula
The main building of Loppula originally served as the official residence of a forest ranger. The historic log walls still create a warm and welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of old Finnish forest cottages. The building has been fully renovated and now hosts Loppula Nature Café on weekends, while on weekdays the facilities are used for private events and group bookings.
In the Loppula kitchen we prepare fresh sweet and savoury treats, and our drink selection includes hot beverages as well as craft soft drinks from small Finnish breweries. The café also functions as a small exhibition space, featuring rotating exhibitions by local artists from the Oulu region.

At the café you can pay by bank card, cash or MobilePay.
Customer toilets are clean and accessible dry toilets located in the courtyard. Inside the building you will also find hand-washing facilities and an accessible toilet. The café itself is accessible for visitors with limited mobility.

Loppula is also an excellent starting point for exploring the stunning Sanginjoki Nature Reserve.
Recently renewed hiking routes maintained by Metsähallitus invite visitors to enjoy Finnish nature:
Loppula Accessible Nature Trail – 800 m
Loppula hiking route – 4 km
Korpilampi Trail – 5 km
Isokangas Trail – 10 km
All trails begin from the Loppula parking area.

Getting here
There is no public transport connection to the area. If needed, we can help arrange taxi or bus transportation for groups. Oulu is known as one of the most bike-friendly cities in Northern Europe, and cycling to Loppula is a beautiful way to reach the forest.
You can reach the café by bike via several scenic routes:

There is plenty of free parking available close to the café.
